spiral number one

The dynamic map I’ve initiated at debategraph is now public. It’s called spiral number one, built around the question:

How can we use software like this [the software that debategraph uses] as part of a system to represent and document knowledge and human experience in a social environment on touch-screen enabled devices such as tablet computers and phones?

Which is a bit of a mouthful but there we are. Just a note - I’ve been talking to the folks behind debategraph about this kind of stuff (and other things) for a while now.

Here’s the goal:

… to get to the point where someone somewhere – anywhere – can pick up a network-connected, touch-screen enabled device (like a tablet computer or a phone), turn it on, see a 3D dynamic map appear and navigate through knowledge and human experience.

Along the way the project includes what I see as a possible future for digital publishing. If you’re particularly interested in that just follow the highlighted connections (the thicker arrows).

The link above takes you to the surface of the map. To go beneath the surface and get at the Details and other panels associated with the map, to make comments or join the community associated with the map (click the Community tab) and add your own thoughts just click the + icon in the bottom navigation bar. Enjoy!
