One of the conditions that someone has to meet to become a Digital Inhabitant is that they use their real identity. By making that part of the definition I bypass the whole discussion of anonymity on the Internet. It makes real identity the starting place. The debate surrounding the anonymity issue is way too broad and intense for me to attempt to introduce it. I don’t have the expertise to do it justice.
So I start with real identity, a requirement for this virtual Real World I am calling cldwrld and see where that takes me. If it leads back into the discussion on anonymity then so be it, but the starting point is from the perspective of cldwrld, not the Real World.
