So I’ve been wondering why I feel so strongly that Digital Inhabitants (see earlier post) and particularly Digital Natives are or will be such a force for good in the Real World. Today I had a mini-epiphany. In the digital world the emphasis, if I am a Digital Inhabitant, is on being good. Being a helpful person. Sharing. Being kind. Because I am all “out there” (and because otherwise it all goes down the tubes).

So I wonder if this translates to the Real World. Isn’t it a small but constant pressure on the personality Here in the Real World to be, frankly, nicer because of my actions in the digital world? I think so. Cool.
